Hey readers! I'm not exactly sure how many of you there are yet,but I hope you will enjoy this blog, and maybe write your own. Please comment if you like it, and if you have any suggestions.
BEEP BEEP BEEP. Don's rusty old alarm clock made its aggravating noise. He looked over, hoping Nina would get it, but remembering she was at work. He wished there was enough money to get a new one; this one's noise drove him nuts! But he had spent the whole of his 'Goth money' (as he called it) on Nina's exercise machine. It was his morning off, and he planned to make the most of it! There were several TV programmes he had missed because of his late work hours, and he planned to catch up on all of them. He got out of bed, leaving it unmade; Nina could sort that out later.
He heard a loud, angry wail and groaned. This parenting lark wasn't easy! He walked into Max's room, and sighed. There was a rather nasty smell and Max looked wide awake, and hungry! He changed Max's diaper keeping his general body as far away from the toddler as possible. As soon as Max was in his high chair he washed his hands very vigorously. Most mornings he felt like taking off and getting a house or apartment somewhere else. He loved Max, but surely changing and feeding and cuddling was motherly stuff right? Then he thought of when Max was older, when he could teach him to be a little heartbreaker like himself and smiled. He wanted to be able to meet and teach all of his children how to be like him, but he wasn't allowed to see 5 of them! He wanted to find some way of meeting Cassandra's 4, but he wouldn't be too involved, no! He'd just be cool dad who sometimes drops round. He knew there were 3 boys and a girl, but he had no idea of their names.
He didn't pay much attention to Kaylynn's two girls. He liked them enough, but they were too clingy, and always wanted him to play with their doll house. Besides, that stupid Dreamer bloke made him uncomfortable. Whenever he went over, he wanted to get Kaylynn alone, to maybe see if they could reignite the old spark, but Darren was always at her side. Don didn't know what she saw in that guy. He sighed. Then there was Violet. Dina had sent him a picture, and she looked beautiful. He wished he could meet her. Even though she was only 3, she had a face that could break any man's heart. "I expect her and Max to be the ones that inherit my gift" he muttered to himself, as he finally finished washing his hands, and turned the clunky tap off.
He took Max out of his chair, gave him some toys, and started watching the recording of SimCity General Hospital. It was his favourite soap, all the nurse actors were very pretty, but this morning he wasn't getting into it as much as he normally did. He was still thinking about his 8 children. He wanted to be a part in all of their lives, well, not the diaper and cuddly part, but he felt bad that his children didn't know him. They might even hate him for not being there as they grew up. He made a decision to drop round to Cassandra's when he and Nina next had a day off. He wouldn't take Nina, but he would need her to take care of Max. It seemed like a brilliant plan. Just as he has thought of this, Max began to shriek and cry. He looked over and found that Max had broken his Wobbly Rabbit's ear, and was now bashing it against the TV. He paused the recording of SimCity General Hospital, and sighed. Don was not cut out for parenthood, too bad he had 8 kids!
